VG-LINE RITM-2

The VG-Line Ritm-2 is a direct descendant of a classic Soviet mono synth, the РИТМ-2 also known as the Rhythm-2 or Ritm Dva. Originally inspired by Moog synthesizers, this desktop-sized synthesizer packs Soviet engineering know-how into a compact package. It can be controlled externally with CV and gate or with MIDI.The core of the module is the multi-waveform oscillator that features a unique distorted triangle wave, sawtooth, and pulse wave with PWM. These waveforms are passed into a mixer which can additionally mix in white noise and external audio sources. It wouldn't be a Moog-inspired synthesizer without a killer filter. It's a 24dB/oct transistor ladder filter that has adjustable keyboard tracking that gives the Ritm-2 a distinctive sound. The VCA features a non-linear response and some distortion can be added to the sound on the output stage.

Both the filter and VCA feature their own ADSR envelope, with the VCA envelope able to self-cycle. A modulation LFO features triangle, square, and sample and hold waveforms which are routed to the oscillator and filter. Both of these modulation destinations can have their own waveform, allowing for more complex modulation opportunities. In addition, the LFO can sync to incoming MIDI clock to run in time with MIDI sequences. The MIDI input also features a glissando amount control and the ability to assign the MIDI velocity to the VCA. Not only can it be controlled by MIDI, the Ritm-2 has CV inputs for pitch, VCF cutoff, VCA, PWM, and a v-trig input for the envelopes. This Soviet-style synthesizer packs a lot of punch into a desktop size.
