Advanced Modular Synthesis Program
The Advanced Program by Modular Moon is designed for musicians, synthesists, and electronic artists who already have a solid understanding of the basics of synthesis and modular systems and want to take their practice further.
This two-week intensive program is focused on developing your individual approach to synthesis, patching, sound design, and live performance. Rather than following a fixed curriculum, the program works directly with your existing knowledge, equipment, musical goals, and creative practice.
During the program, you will explore:
- Advanced patching techniques and new approaches to building and controlling patches
- Individual system review — analysing your current modular system, workflow, and signal architecture
- System configuration advice — identifying possible improvements, additions, replacements, or alternative ways of organising your system
- Sound design and post-processing, including ways to develop, shape, record, and refine your sounds beyond the modular system
- Live performance techniques — transforming patches and ideas into a coherent live set
- Stage preparation and technical setup, including signal flow, routing, performance organisation, and practical preparation for playing live
- Building a complete live performance, from the initial concept and patch design through rehearsal and performance
- Personal artistic development, helping you develop a workflow and performance language that fits your own music rather than simply reproducing existing techniques
Depending on the participant’s experience and goals, the program can also include practical experience in giving workshops, presenting your knowledge to others, or preparing and debuting a live performance.
The intensive is therefore not only about learning more synthesis techniques. It is about bringing your existing knowledge together into a more confident, organised, and individual creative practice — whether your goal is to improve your studio work, redesign your system, develop a live set, prepare for the stage, or take your first steps toward teaching and performing professionally.
